Doris Kearnes Goodwin, in her memoir, Wait Till Next Year, a tale of growing up in Rockville Centre, writes fondly of her days as a student in the 1940’s and 50’s. The educational excellence that she experienced is undiminished. The Rockville Centre school system is still one of the best on Long Island. With a rich program that rests upon a strong foundation of basics, it sends more than 96% of its students on to some of the best colleges in the nation.
